Bespoke Screen Content – Case Study

Blink created the big-screen graphics for Lily Allen’s explosive opening performance at the Brit Awards. With creative direction from Will Baker and a stunning set by Nicoline Refsing and Mark Fisher, the production was designed to juxtapose Blanca Li’s Busby Berkeley-inspired choreography and staging against an unmistakably ‘punk’ backdrop. We were lucky to work with legendary fashion designer and stylist Judy Blame – famous for his iconic prints and badges – which provided the creative material for our ‘cut and paste’ layered collage backdrop. We also produced a stills shoot with Lily, and layered Will’s photos of her into the animation design. The end result elevated Lily to a fully-fledged pop star and seemed all the more appropriate when she won her first Brit in the Best Female category.
